Puzzle Pieces

I am also using puzzle pieces to symbolically depict my character and their partner finding one another and being the perfect match. I will edit the shots of the puzzles with stop-frame animation. I am using plain puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly. The two pieces will come together join and then go off the shot as one.

Cards

I am using cards to show my characters children, using stop frame animation. I am using a stack of books central which will represent my character as a grown and knowledgeable adult and two stacks of cards which will come out of the books. I am then planning to stack these to show the children growing up. Originally I wanted to show the children using small books but I found a lot of small books were too thin or different shapes so didn't have the effect I wanted.

Location - Oxford

I used the busy streets of Oxford for some of my filming. I chose to use Cornmarket Street because living in Oxford I've learnt this is one of the busier streets due to it being central Oxford with lots of shops on.

I used the shots I got to portray how the character felt when they first approached the world. Initially the world must feel busy and fast so I wanted to make the audience feel this.

A lot of the time the street wasn't busier enough and people avoided the camera so I didn't get that much footage when it was as busy as I hoped.

Here are the shots I got in Oxford:

The Books

I am using books in my piece to symbolise growing and learning. I am using them near the beginning to show the character is in their childhood and beginning to learn more and I am also using them in my 'university' scene to depict the higher education pathway they have chosen. I hoping to edit the majority of shots with books using a stop-frame animation.

Storyboarding Scene 1: The Birth

This is a more visual storyboard I have made for the first scene - the birth scene - to help me think about the shots I want when I film. Obviously there will be more shots in my actual production and they will be slightly altered but it is more of a visual guide.

Location Scouting

These are places I have found where I would ideally like to film.

This location, a flooded forest, would be used in scene one, in the birth scene, when the camera will be coming out of water. I have chosen a naturalistic setting because birth is a very natural thing. I hope the weather is similar to the picture (sunny) when I film and birth is a very positive thing and I think the light of the sun helps portray this.

These two locations can be used in scenes four and six. They are both larger open spaces. In scene six the character will be feeling lost in teenage life and I think these spaces can depict this and you cannot see a clear exit route and can feel very alone.

Whereas in scene six the will be running and happy because there is so much to explore and play with.

The forest surrounding the fields can be used in scenes 15 and 16 for death. I hope to had a low angle shot as if the character is looking up and have the sun beaming through the forest trees.

Exploration of Objects Scene

In scene three my character will be exploring textures and objects like a child would when they were younger. Here are some textures I've chosen to explore.
